A Promise Poem for Big Hearted, Big Feeling, Bold, Gentle Humans.
I had one of the best, funniest, biggest and most creative weekends I’ve had in a while and then yesterday was a magical day of sharing something of my own and also multiple magical projects of my clients and friends. And it felt so good.
So vibrant and so fulfilling. And my friend and I often say ‘oh I wish I could just do X and not need so much help or sound boarding or creative collaboration’ and it’s tempting right, cos we want to be clever and productive and efficient.
But maybe our brains don’t work like that. And that’s ok. And so I wrote her and us a poem.
An anthem. An ode to creation and courageous living.
And I thought it might support you too.
So here it is:
A PROMISE POEM FOR BIG HEARTED, BIG FEELING, BOLD, GENTLE HUMANS.
By Sarah Harney
I, (insert your name here), do solemnly swear that I will remember that I am utterly brilliant.
Even when I waiver, when I forget, when I stumble, when I go backwards, when I get taken off course… still I am brilliant.
I promise to remember that my brilliance, my ideas, my desires and my services, are welcomed, needed, worthy & purposeful.
I promise to remember that it’s ok to need help from others to squeeze out the magic. To craft it, to reimagine it, to hold it.
I promise to remember that my way might not look like what I’ve seen before. That it might feel like it’s not the ‘best, fastest, smartest, simplest’ way, but it’s my way and that means it’s ok.
When I’m tired, hungry, scared, worried, stretched, pushed, unsure, questioned or judged, I promise to keep going. I promise to rest, snack & ask for support.
I promise to remember that it’s ok to create the life, love, work, joy, pleasure, relationships and adventures that are meaningful to me.
I promise to hold myself first, and let myself be held by nourishing people, things & experiences.
I promise to remember after I forget.
I promise to come home to myself.
I promise.
Love from myself on a sunny morning of optimism, good health & affirming validation.
For myself in the times I will forget again.
So much love,
Sarah x
